Meet Haider Ali, Pakistan’s star Paralympian 2024 

Haider Ali is Pakistan's most famous and successful Paralympian, known for his extraordinary achievements in parasports. He has made significant contributions to the country's sports world, especially to the disabled community. 

Achievements and Background:

•  Haider Ali was born with cerebral palsy, which affects his muscle coordination and movement. 

• His main event is the long jump, but he has also competed in the discus and sprints.

 Paralympic Achievements:

•  2008 Beijing Paralympics: Haider Ali won Pakistan's first Paralympic  medalby recording 6.44 meters in the long jump. 
• Rio 2016 Paralympics: He proved his durability on the world stage and achieved another milestone by winning a **bronze medalin the long jump. 

• Tokyo 2020 Paralympics: In the most defining moment of his career, Haider Ali recorded a throw of 55.26 meters in the discus (category F37) to win Pakistan's first Paralympic gold medal and thus became a national hero.
