BAHAWALPUR: Vehari police claimed on Wednesday to have recovered a man allegedly kidnapped through “honey tarp” by Katcha area dacoits for ransom in Tibba Sultanpur police station limits.

According to police, around three-and-a-half-month ago a gang of Katcha area dacoits “honey trapped” one Muhammad Nawaz (55), a resident of Tibba Sultanpur.

In a recent honey trap case in Vehari,  police successfully rescued a man who was lured by bandits from Katchha region. These gangs often use deceptive tactics involving fake business deals and personal relationships to ensnare their victims.

Vehari police along with other law enforcement agencies have been conducting operations  to combat these criminals in Katchha region of southern Punjab.

The operation has freed a number of hostages and freed over 50 people from the clutches of bandits. These criminals often target people with honey traps, luring them with promises of cheap deals  like cars and real estate.

Police are taking steps to raise awareness and encourage people to report  suspicious activity.

Efforts are ongoing to release the hostages and dismantle these gangs. Large areas are  being cleared and criminals are being arrested.
