Recently, several members of the Pakistan Transitional Party (PTI) were arrested by Islamabad police from the National Assembly premises.
Following their arrest, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq issued production orders to 10 PTI lawmakers. These members included Sher Afzal Marwat, Aamir Dogar, Ahmed Chatta, Zain Qureshi, among others.
The summons orders asked the police to bring the arrested lawmakers to the National Assembly and then remand them in custody.
The arrests come amid rising tensions between the PTI and the government over fears that the police may enter the National Assembly without proper authorization.
An investigative committee was then established to look into the incident and focus on how and why the security breach occurred.
The committee's task is to submit its findings to the Speaker of Parliament and to investigate the circumstances that allowed the police to arrest the .
