Punjab Police recently banned police officers from using social media while on duty.
The decision was triggered by videos of police officers going viral on platforms like TikTok, Facebook and Instagram.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz implemented the rule to maintain professionalism and discipline within the police force.
According to the new policy, no police officer or personnel will be allowed to use social media while on duty.
Severe disciplinary action will be taken against anyone found violating this rule, especially those caught sharing videos or using social media while in uniform.
All official communications must be conducted through approved channels, and police officers are prohibited from expressing personal, political or religious opinions online without prior permission from their superiors.
This policy is in place to ensure that police resources and time are solely focused on maintaining law and order, and to prevent the misuse of official vehicles and facilities for personal online activities.
