SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Six police personnel and seven civilians were injured in an explosion in Wana tehsil of South Waziristan district, on Monday morning.

A recent explosion in Wana, South Waziristan, injured 13 people, including six police officers and seven civilians. 

The incident occurred when two police vans were leaving to ensure the safety of a polio vaccination team. The explosion, triggered by an IED, hit the vehicles at around 8:30am. 

One of the injured is said to be in a critical condition. In another incident, Dr. Shakibullah, Vice Chancellor of Gomal University, was attacked by armed men as he was leaving  Dera Ismail Khan Agriculture University. 

His car was destroyed but he escaped unharmed. These attacks came amid heightened tensions after an explosive vest was  found abandoned in Peshawar on the same day .
