Bail application of Karsaz traffic accident suspect rejected in drug case

KARACHI: A judicial magistrate dismissed the post-arrest bail application of the Karsaz traffic accident suspect in a drug case.

However, suspect Natasha Danish’s counsel challenged the magistrate’s decision before a sessions court.

A judge has rejected the bail application of Natasha Danish, a suspect in the drug case of the Karsaz road accident in August 2024. Danish, who was driving a speeding SUV that killed Imran Arif and his daughter Amna, was arrested and charged with culpable homicide. 

A medical examination revealed that she was under the influence of methamphetamine  at the time of the accident.  Danish was granted bail in the culpable homicide case after the victim's family granted pardon, but her bail was denied by the court  in the drug case. 

The court highlighted the seriousness of the issue and the impact of drug use on society, especially considering her position as an educated person who should have been aware of the consequences.
