WASHINGTON:
An Israeli air strike on an aid convoy carrying food and fuel to a Gaza hospital killed four Palestinians on Thursday, US-based aid group Anera said as Israel claimed they were "armed assailants," which the group denied.
An Israeli airstrike on August 29, 2024 targeted an aid convoy in the Gaza Strip, killing four Palestinians. The convoy, organized by the US-based donation Anera, was transporting medical supplies and fuel to an Emirati hospital in Rafah.
Israel claimed the attack was against "armed assailants" who had allegedly hijacked the lead vehicle. However, Anera denied this, saying the victims were employees of a local transport company and that the convoy had been authorized by Israeli authorities.
