  • Quake originated at 12:28pm Pakistan Standard Time, as per PMD.
  • Epicentre of 10km deep quake was located near Punjab's DG Khan..
  • Earthquake affected India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, USGS.

On September 11, 2024, a magnitude 5.7  earthquake struck parts of Pakistan, including Punjab and the capital, Islamabad. 

The  epicenter of the earthquake was near Dera Ghazi Khan in southwestern Punjab, at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers. 

The tremors were felt in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and even  parts of northern India, including Delhi. 

Fortunately, no direct casualties or significant damage were reported, but authorities were on high alert for possible aftershocks.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant, and civil protection teams were deployed to respond to  reports of building damage.
